Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

P2 had a fantastic time at the Ulster Folk Museum, learning lots about schools in the past!
Numeracy Superstars Our pupils have been showing off their amazing maths skills this week: from perfecting number formation to exploring decimals and investigating 3D shapes! They have been numeracy experts both indoors and outdoors, proving that maths is all around us. What a fantastic way to celebrate Maths Week : working hard and making us so proud every step of the way! 👏💙❤️
Mrs Weir once again welcomed three excited P1 children who couldn’t wait to show off their wonderful writing! They chatted all about tall and short letters, finger spaces and knew all about a full stop. The boys and girls are loving life in P1 — especially after their fun trip to the duck pond yesterday! Life at Londonderry Primary is full of learning, laughter and little stars in the making. 🌟
⚽️🌟A huge well done to Jodi and Joel! Mr Barr picked these two as Footballers of the Match yesterday for their amazing talent, determination and team spirit. What a duo! Keep up the good work and making us proud! ⚽️♥️💙
Mrs Weir was delighted to receive two beautiful painted portraits from P1 today! 🎨👠 P1 have been learning about people who help us in school and it seems they know Mrs Weir very well already, complete with high heels, a big smile and plenty of glitter! ✨💖
We are so proud of Jack! He will be playing the snare drum at The World Solo Drumming Championships, Glasgow, this weekend. Good luck Jack! 🥁
A great start to the league season with a 1-1 draw against Donaghadee and a 3-2 win over Comber. Well done to all those who played. It was great to see us fight back from 2 nil down in the final game to win 3-2.
P1 had a fantastic time at the duck pond today. Our children are well introduced to our autumn themed play activities for next term . There will be lots of tired children tonight.
