💐LPS in Bloom💐
We are excited to launch a brand‑new PTA event: “LPS in Bloom with a Wooden Spoon” a fun, creative crafting competition for all children.
For £1 entry fee, children are invited to turn a wooden spoon (provided from home) into a flower using any materials they like. The flower can even be themed — cartoons, gaming characters, pop groups, or anything they love. The only rule: it must look like a flower!
Prizes
2 overall winners will each receive a £25 Smyths voucher
There will also be small prizes for:
One runner‑up per Key Stage, giving everyone an extra chance to shine with their creativity.
Winning creations will be displayed at the school reception and all other entries (where possible) will be showcased around the school.
Not Feeling So Crafty? Try Our Paper Design Competition!
If crafting isn’t your thing, no problem! Children can instead design a wooden spoon flower on paper for our art competition with a few Easter eggs up for grabs as prizes.
For a 50p entry fee, a wooden‑spoon template will be provided for them to decorate and transform into a flower.
Entry deadline is Monday 23rd March 2026 and winners will be announced Friday 27th March 2026
Mrs Weir was delighted to welcome some P1 visitors today. They proudly showed off their excellent scissor skills while cutting out ‘Munching Mike’ and impressed with their fantastic phonic knowledge of the ‘m’ sound.
A brilliant effort! Keep up the great work, P1! ✂️
P4C had a very special visitor yesterday in the lead up to World Book Day. The illustrator of ‘The owl who was afraid of the dark’, Paul Howard came to visit their classroom. Thank you to Newtownards Library who arranged the visit!
