Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

Today we were delighted to host our very first Granny / Nanna / Nanny and Grandchildren Lunch in school, kindly funded through our Eco funds. The event was a simple but heartfelt way to acknowledge and say thank you to all the wonderful grannies and nanny’s who support our children every day ; whether through childcare, helping with homework, or school pick-ups. We were thrilled with such a fantastic turnout and lovely atmosphere throughout the afternoon. A huge thank you to Mrs Hutton for organising this special event, and to Mrs Gillespie for providing beautiful piano music. It was a great opportunity for everyone to come together, connect, and experience school life from a different perspective. We truly value our grandparents as an important part of our extended school family, and this was our way of showing just how much they are appreciated. Thank you to H & J Carnduff for supplying all the sandwiches!
