Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

HELP NEEDED ! We had a fantastic morning on the 11th October at our Super Saturday event. Our school is looking great. However, we did not get all the painting we had planned completed. If any budding parent/ grandparent, or family member is at a loose end and would like to help us out before our weather turns, please let the school office or Mrs Hutton know and she can organise a few paintbrushes for you. Many Thanks!
Thematic learning day for P2, using the story of the Gingerbread Man for sequencing, data handling, comprehension, instructional writing, problem solving and Artwork. A brilliant day!
Well done to our fantastic Literacy Stars of the Week 🀩

🌿 Eco Super Saturday Success! 🌿 A huge thank you to Mrs Hutton and to all the amazing children, parents and staff who came along to help at our Eco Super Saturday. Once again, our school community pulled together to make the school grounds look fantastic! From painting, cleaning, varnishing and litter picking to window washing, building new outdoor games, and general upkeep β€” everyone played their part. We are so proud and grateful to have such a dedicated team here at Londonderry Primary School. πŸ’™β€οΈ Together we make a difference! 🌱
Today is World Mental Health Day. At Londonderry Primary, we believe in developing the whole child: mind, heart and spirit! This year’s theme is β€˜Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.’ It reminds us to: 🌱 Understand our feelings and what makes us us. πŸ’ͺ Build resilience when things get tough. πŸ’– Keep growing, learning, and being proud of who we are. During Early Morning Club, our children drew amazing self-portraits and chatted about all the things that make them special. 🌟 Let’s all take time today to celebrate how unique and wonderful we are! 🌟
Look out for the Scholastic Book Club magazines coming home with pupils over the next few days! A great opportunity to order some fantastic books online at amazing prices! πŸ˜ƒπŸ“–
