Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

What a wonderful morning we had at our Harvest Service today. The choirs, readings and behaviour were all exceptional and we are so proud of our pupils. It can be nerve-wracking to speak in front of the whole school, but our children from P1 to P7 made it look so easy! Confident, clear and full of joy; they did themselves and our school proud. A huge thank you to Mrs Gillespie, Mrs Ward and Mrs Hamilton for preparing the children so beautifully. Harvest reminds us of the importance of saying thank you and being grateful for all that we have. We are also very thankful to our families who sent in food donations for the local food bank, helping to support others in our community. A truly special morning at Londonderry Primary. ๐Ÿ‚
These two fantastic P6 boys filled their reward chart and chose the option of โ€˜Positive Principal Awardโ€™ which allowed them to spend some time out of class with Mrs Weir. They proudly shared how they filled their reward charts by helping others, showing a super work ethic and giving 100% to everything they do in school. As always, Mrs Weir was delighted to spend time with them and hear all about the wonderful things happening in P6!
Thanks to all the parents and staff who have signed up for the Belfast City Marathon Relay so far! Can any other interested parents, grandparents or family members please return their slips by this Friday. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ
