Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

Internet Safety After half term our focus will be on Internet Safety week. This morning our school council delivered a fabulous assembly explaining that the internet is an amazing place but we need to know how to use it safely. They shared 5 important facts that we all need to know. 1) Keep you personal information private: Name, address, school and birthday. 2) People online are not always who they say they are: Never agree to meet up with a 'friend' you met online. 3) Not everything on the internet is true: Don't believe everything you read. Always ask a parent or a teacher. 4) Always be kind online: Remember once you send a message or post a picture, you cannot take it back. Before you press send, ask yourself: Is this nice? 5) TELL SOMEONE: Do not keep it a secret. Find a trusted adult and tell them straight away. You will never get in trouble for telling an adult if something went wrong. The School Council will be running Internet Safety Competitions after half term. Keep an eye out for these.
