Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

Primary 1 are still full of excitement after an amazing performance of 'Shine Star Shine' on Friday morning. The children were absolutely amazing! Itโ€™s also worth noting the effort that our fantastic assistants always put in to their job too. Mrs Bradford and Mrs Hutton couldn't have done it without them. Shout out to all assistants who go above and beyond. Insta vs reality ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿคฉโค๏ธ
Two boys really impressed Mrs Weir with their Christmas acrostic poems. A fantastic effort and a job well done. Mrs Weir was delighted to see their creativity and enthusiasm for writing. ๐ŸŽ„
๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ Mission Christmas: Thank You! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ„ A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to Mission Christmas Cash for Kids. Your generous support will help bring smiles to childrenโ€™s faces on Christmas morning, and we are so grateful for your kindness. All donations will be collected on Monday, so any last-minute gifts can still be dropped off on Monday morning. As always, your generosity shines through; thank you for making a real difference this Christmas. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
We hope you all enjoyed our nativities this week! Our P1s shone brightly in Shine Star Shine, and our P2s brought the barn to life in Prickly Hay. Such talented children, full of confidence, big smiles and plenty of festive cheer. A huge thank you to our teachers out front and our amazing classroom assistants working hard behind the scenes. It takes a lot of preparation to put these shows together, and we are so grateful for their dedication. ๐ŸŽ„Merry Christmas from all of us at LPS! ๐ŸŽ„
๐ŸŽ„Too good not to share! ๐ŸŽ„ A reminder that it is the little things they remember and are excited to share with us back at school.
๐ŸŽ„Christmas dinner success at LPS! ๐ŸŽ„ A big thank you to Mrs Gibson and her amazing team for a delicious festive feast. Plenty of happy faces, festive songs and lots of clean plates today!
