Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

We are so proud of Jack! He will be playing the snare drum at The World Solo Drumming Championships, Glasgow, this weekend. Good luck Jack! 🥁
A great start to the league season with a 1-1 draw against Donaghadee and a 3-2 win over Comber. Well done to all those who played. It was great to see us fight back from 2 nil down in the final game to win 3-2.
P1 had a fantastic time at the duck pond today. Our children are well introduced to our autumn themed play activities for next term . There will be lots of tired children tonight.
Mrs Weir had some fantastic visitors from P3 today who absolutely blew her away with their x5 maths facts! Super speedy and super smart numeracy superstars! 🌟
HELP NEEDED ! We had a fantastic morning on the 11th October at our Super Saturday event. Our school is looking great. However, we did not get all the painting we had planned completed. If any budding parent/ grandparent, or family member is at a loose end and would like to help us out before our weather turns, please let the school office or Mrs Hutton know and she can organise a few paintbrushes for you. Many Thanks!
Thematic learning day for P2, using the story of the Gingerbread Man for sequencing, data handling, comprehension, instructional writing, problem solving and Artwork. A brilliant day!
Well done to our fantastic Literacy Stars of the Week 🤩
This week we are celebrating Maths Week Ireland. Lots of different and fun Numeracy activities have been planned for each class.
🌿 Eco Super Saturday Success! 🌿 A huge thank you to Mrs Hutton and to all the amazing children, parents and staff who came along to help at our Eco Super Saturday. Once again, our school community pulled together to make the school grounds look fantastic! From painting, cleaning, varnishing and litter picking to window washing, building new outdoor games, and general upkeep — everyone played their part. We are so proud and grateful to have such a dedicated team here at Londonderry Primary School. 💙❤️ Together we make a difference! 🌱
