From the profits made through the Young Enterprise Business Beginnings programme, P7B chose to donate £75 back into YE as a legacy for delivering next year’s programme. They also voted to donate £75 to Action Deaf Youth. This is a fantastic local charity who supports deaf and hearing-impaired babies, children and young people. This charity is close to P7B’s hearts as they have provided excellent support to our own pupils. Today, our class enjoyed a visit from Julie and Michelle, along with their interpreter Chloe, who told us about what Action Deaf Youth does to support and empower young people and their families, and what the pupils’ donation will be used for. These pupils are definitely living up to the LPS promise of educating, encouraging and caring!

The football season ended with a match against league winners Victoria, and a friendly against Castle Gardens. Well done to every player who represented the school team this season. Keep practising those skills and good luck with your football development.
Unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel Sports Day tomorrow.
The weather has not been on our side, and following a risk assessment we feel that the conditions are not safe. The tennis courts are likely to be slippery, creating a health and safety concern, and the grass area for our P1 and P2 pupils is simply too wet for activities to take place safely.
At this stage, I am unsure whether we will have another suitable date available before the end of term. However, please be assured that all children will still have the opportunity to take part in Sports Day activities during school time, either within their class or year group, and on a dry day.
I appreciate that this news may be disappointing for both children and families, and I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
