At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future. We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.
We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.
For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch. Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.
Another fantastic year at LPS has come to an end! ☀️

The LPS family is now officially switching to solar power mode: feet up, batteries recharging, and ready to soak up some summer sunshine before we return refreshed for 2026–27!
Have a brilliant summer filled with fun, laughter and happy memories. Thank you for being part of another wonderful year.

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” Winnie the Pooh
Today we said goodbye to our wonderful P7 pupils as they celebrated their Leavers’ Assembly.
It is hard to put into words just how proud we are of each and every one of them. We have had the privilege of watching them grow from young children into confident, kind, resilient and caring young people. Their personalities have flourished, their friendships have strengthened, and they have helped make LPS the special place it is today.
While we are sad to see them leave, we are excited for the adventures that lie ahead. A new chapter begins, full of opportunities, challenges and memories waiting to be made. Their new schools are incredibly lucky to have such talented, hardworking and thoughtful young people joining their communities.
As they take their next steps, we hope they will always remember their time at LPS. No matter where life takes them, they will always be part of the LPS family.
Good luck, P7. Be brave, be kind, believe in yourselves and embrace every opportunity that comes your way. We will miss you greatly, but we know you are more than ready for this exciting new adventure. 💙❤️
Numbots Celebration
In our Numbots celebration in assembly this morning, we congratulated a P2, P3 and P4 pupil for being leaders for the most amount of active days. It is not about how much it is played as we want to encourage screen-free time; instead, we are celebrating pupils who have kept up regular “little and often” practice. Numbots recommends 3 minutes a day, 5 times a week and it has been great to hear teachers comment so positively about pupils’ skills levels increasing as they’ve kept up their practice. Well done!
Numbots will remain available over the summer for any P2-P4 pupils who wish to build on their skills, ready for moving into their new year group. Super stars! 🌟
