Londonderry Primary School, Newtownards

Welcome

At Londonderry Primary School we believe in educating every child, encouraging their unique potential and caring for their wellbeing - preparing them for a bright and successful future.  We have a proud and rich tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral support and an extensive range of extracurricular provision and after school clubs. Our school ethos is “Educating, Encouraging, Caring” and we pride ourselves on the supportive, family atmosphere we have created.

We provide a safe, caring environment and endeavour to instill a love of learning whilst striving to create lifelong learners. Every child will be able to look back on how they have participated in the life of the school and how they made a valuable and valued positive contribution.

For us, positive relationships and excellent communication are of paramount importance as we work closely together with parents and our community towards shared goals. We therefore hope you enjoy looking around our website and if you need any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch.  Together we will shape the future with learning, kindness and care.

Weekends? What weekends? Our marathon runners certainly don’t believe in days off! While the rest of us are enjoying a lie-in and an extra cup of tea, they’ll be lacing up their trainers and hitting the ground running at Bangor Parkrun tomorrow morning. Dedication, determination… and perhaps a slight dislike of relaxing! Good luck to all our runners as they continue their marathon training and fundraising journey. If you see them, be sure to give them a cheer (or possibly a lift home afterwards!).
https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/lpsmarathonteams And here they are… our final marathon team! πŸŽ‰ Made up entirely of our amazing parents, this team will be pounding the pavements, questioning their life choices, and raising vital funds for our school. Why, you ask? Because a shiny new school library doesn’t build itself! πŸ“š Please cheer them on, support them if you can, and remember: while their legs may ache, their determination (and competitive spirit) certainly won’t. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/lpsmarathonteams Marathon training at LPS is a whole-school operation; nobody gets left behind! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ Our competitors are working hard, while the rest of the school has taken on the vital role of "motivational support" (also known as shouting from a safe distance or shaking our Pom Pom’s!). No time for resting, unless you're tying a shoelace... or dramatically pretending to. At Londonderry Primary, our ethos is simple: Educating, Encouraging and Caring. We train together, laugh together, and occasionally wonder whose idea this was in the first place! Run LPS Run πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ
We could not have our usual Friday assembly this morning as our hall was busy with the school photographer; but that was not going to stop us celebrating our superstars! 🌟 Our award winners came to Mrs Weir’s office for a special celebration together. From GB trophies to gymnastics, dance and rugby achievements. Our pupils continue to make us incredibly proud. Well done to each and every one of you; you are shining brightly both in and out of school! ⭐

Cheer them on, give them a wave, or even better: sponsor them if you can! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β™₯οΈπŸ’™
